There is still time to train for the November 6th and November 12th AMC 10A/12A and AMC 10B/12B, respectively! Enroll in our weekend seminars to be held on November 2nd and 3rd (listed below) and you will learn problem strategies, test taking techniques, and be able to take a full practice test! Note that the “B” seminars will have different material from the “A” seminars which were held in October.

Special AMC 10 Problem Seminar B

Special AMC 12 Problem Seminar B
For those who want to take a free practice test before the AMC 10/12 competitions, you can simulate a real competition experience by following this link. As you assess your performance on these exams, be sure to gather data!

Which problems did you get right?

Was the topic a strength (e.g. number theory, geometry, counting/probability, algebra)?

How did you prepare?

What was your confidence level?

Which problems did you get wrong?

Did you make an arithmetic error?

Did you misread the problem?

Did you have the foundational knowledge for the problem?

Which topics require more fluency through practice (e.g. number theory, geometry, counting/probability, algebra)?

Did you run out of time?

Once you have analyzed the results with the above questions, you will have a plan of attack for future contests! BEST OF LUCK to all competitors at this year’s AMC 10 and AMC 12!

Did you know that the day after both the AMC 10A/12A and AMC 10B/12B you can join a free math jam where our AoPS team will go over the most interesting problems? Find the schedule below under “Mark your calendars”.

Mark your calendars for these upcoming free math jams!

The 81 is not getting you into AIME, but the 102 on 10b COULD. Although I'm personally praying for cutoff for 10b to be 99, I feel that a more realistic cutoff would be 100.5-103.5. So... you have a chance.

I think cutoffs for AMC12 have historically been around high 80s/low 90s, but recently its gone down.

Also there's the fact that a lot of ppl were saying it got difficult this year, so perhaps it may even go down into the high 70s territory?

They're not out lmao.
I think 102 isn't very likely to make it, since this year's 10B was easier than last year's 10B (which had a cutoff of 105), so I think the cutoff will be 106.5

but last years cutoffs were inflated because of cheating
I think 100-103.5 is a good estimate for 10B. I don't know about 12 so I can't speak for that.

81 is most likely not going to make aime on the 12 but take this with a grain of salt bc im not very knowledgable abt how the 12 works

if you get very very very lucky the 102 might just be the aime floor
like my personal prediction is 103.5, but 102 is possible maybe 40~% chance

AIME floor on 10A = aim for 99
10B = aim for 103.5
12A = it could even be in high-70s, but very unlikely. 82 might make it no guarantees (it's like a 2/5 chance)
12B = aim for 90

Alright my estimated breakdown

81 on 12A - fr you're cooked. say 0.6%

predicted 102... did you look at sols or did u guess? I'm assuming you looked at solutions...

102 on 10B is decent but really prob not enough to make AIME, but it could be down to 99 this yr bc it was hard (I failed)

so maybe ~ 40%

total - 40.36%
so maybe 3rd or 2nd option
