Weekly Update: Even More New Classes, AMC 10/12, and more
February 5, 2019
It’s the time of year of immense excitement for many students – the first week of the AMC 10 and AMC 12 tests being administered!
Leading up to the tests, AoPS Online locks our community forums that allow for discussion of the AMCs, which helps prevent cheating. If you’re looking for a place to talk about the problems, the community opens up again for discussion the day after.
AoPS Online will hold a Math Jam to discuss the AMC 10/12 A on February 8, which you can learn more about here.
On top of that, AoPS Founder Richard Rusczyk creates videos discussing the problems after the tests are posted.
For example, you can watch him solve the 2019 AMC 10 A, problem # 21, here:
Visit our YouTube channel to see more of the AMC problems solved!
With the AMC 10/12 B taking place next week, we’ll hold a second Math Jam to discuss that version the day after.
A bunch of spring classes start this week!
- Prealgebra 1 (Monday)
- Introduction to Algebra A (Tuesday & Wednesday)
- Introduction to Counting & Probability (Wednesday)
- Introduction to Geometry (Tuesday)
- Intermediate Algebra (Tuesday)
- Precalculus (Tuesday)
Next week, keep an eye out for the start of our math contest preparation classes, the first of which is MATHCOUNTS Basics.
See you in class!
