The Alabama ARML team competes at the American Regions Mathematics League. Historically, the Alabama team has placed in the top 10 at ARML many times.

  • In 2006, Alabama came in 15th in the A division.
  • In 2007, Alabama placed 9th in the A division and had several top scoring students including Seva Tchernov who placed 4th overall.

For the first time in several years, Alabama plans to field two teams at ARML, one in Division A and one in Division B.

Team selection is conducted by comparing scores from AMC exams and designated events during state tournaments. One of these events, a short answer test given at the Vestavia Hills High School Math Tournament, has become known as the Alabama ARML TST and is written by former AoPS class writer, instructor, and textbook author Mathew Crawford.
