| − | If the chatroom is moderated, which is always the case during MathJams and usually the case during class, when students type things into the chatroom, the message is goes to the instructors. From there, the instructors have the choice of sharing the question with the class, whispering an answer back, or doing nothing. Your post will show up in the classroom in a green color if it is chosen. Other people's chosen posts will show up in a blue color. If you get a reply back in a whisper, it will show up in a pink or purple color. If a moderator feels a question requires further discussion, they will open a mini window with you to more deeply discuss the question.

However, you could get a warning for posting spam messages. (You can't post the same thing twice in a row.) You could also get a warning if you post messages too fast.
