"Bumping" means to post on a thread simply to make the thread go back to the top of a forum. Usually on such posts, AoPSers write things like "bumping" or "bump" in the post content. Do not bump unless you are sharing relevant information. Bumping is not necessarily a bad thing though.

Here is a list of commonly used forum language on AoPS.

Bump

"Bumping" means to post on a thread simply to make the thread appear at the top of a forum. Usually on such posts, AoPSers write things like "bumping" or "bump" in the post content. Do not bump unless you are sharing relevant information. Bumping is not necessarily a bad thing though.

Troll

Trolling is the act of posting overly difficult problems or problems with too many calculations on forums. It is commonly used when someone posts a question from, for example, the International Math Olympiad, on the Middle School Math Forum. When problems are considered trolls, it is usually the consensus that they are too hard to do.

Snipe

Sniping is the action of posting to a thread right before another user posted, usually when both posts contain the same content or gist. AoPSers tend to edit their post and add things like "EDIT: sniped!" at the end to signify this.

It is also used in reaper when 2 or more AoPSers reap at around the same time (5 seconds or so) by accident, usually giving one a large score and the other a smaller one.
