Liter

The liter (abbreviated L) is the main unit of volume in the metric system. One liter is equivalent to 1000 cubic centimeters, or one cubic decimeter. When converting from the metric system to the customary (United States) system, one liter is equal to approximately 2.11338 pints, or 1.05669 quarts.
