Format

The fact drill starts out the competition. It consists of 75 arithmetic problems that are to be done in five minutes. Perfect 75s are very rare, although there were a few 74s this year. Next, there are three individual rounds that consists of eight problems each, and one tiebreaker round that consists of six. Then there are three team rounds that consist of 8? problems. The problems of the individual rounds are usually a slight bit easier than the team round problems. There are only chapter competitions; there is no state competition.
