Homogenous inequalities are sometimes normalised to simplify the proofs. As homogenisation involves transforming constants into expressions involving variables to make the degrees of both sides equal, normalisation refers to transforming variables into constants, such as assuming the sum or product of the variables to be 1. One can also interprete it as the reverse process of homogenisation.
