A number p>1 is prime if it has no divisor other than 1 and itself.  Note that 1 is usually defined as being neither prime nor [[composite number|composite]] because it is its only factor among the [[natural number|natural numbers]].  0 is also defined as neither because any number times 0 is equal to 0, so it would have an "infinite" number of factors.
