A real is a number, rational or irrational. The set of real numbers is denoted by $\mathbb{R}$. The set $\mathbb{R}$ contains the subsets $\mathbb{N}$, $\mathbb{R}$, $\mathbb{J}$, and $\mathbb{Q}$. The set of real numbers does not include complex numbers, denoted by $\mathbb{C}$, or other imaginary numbers.
