The Sheriff is a person who deletes/settles reported stuff on AoPS(Like all admins do) and sends private messages to the person that posted the inappropriate content to tell them to never do that again. We should thank the Sheriff for deleting the inappropriate content, because he/she makes AoPS forums a good forum, not a place for bad words to be passed on. Thanks, Sheriff!
