Writing scholarships

The following list of writing scholarships is primarily for American writing students. This list can be reorganized to incorporate scholarship programs in other countries. Just make that reorganization as clear and as clean as possible.

Additions to this list are welcomed and encouraged. Please don't be stingy about letting students in on how they can finance their educations!

General Writing Scholarships

• AES Engineers Scholarships of 500 dollars for high school seniors and college students. Students do not have to be taking engineering courses. Winners are selected based on their essays.
• ALBA Essay Contest
• Arts Recognition and Talent Search Awards for high school and college students (17, 18 years of age) who excel in the in the literary, visual and performing arts, including dance, cinematic arts, jazz, music, photography, theater, visual arts, voice, and writing.

• 2020 Mixed Martial Arts Scholarship Eligible applicants are required to submit a video or 800-1500 word essay on the topic “Best Martial Arts for Self Defense” in order to be considered.

• Inspirational Stories: Scholarship Any high school senior or college/university student is eligible to participate. All you have to do is write a motivational/inspirational story about someone who inspires you and submit it to us! The winner will also be acknowledged on our website aside from earning the scholarship.

• Amaze Invent Buyer Guide Scholarship is open to all individuals who are enrolled in High School, University or College as a full-time student.

• Sustainability Scholarship is open to all majors, but must have a passion for sustainability and environmentalism

• Addiction Awareness Scholarship is open to any major who can shed light on this issue. It may be a personal story that you can share or a more researched essay.

• Baumgartner Law Firm Law Student Scholarship Application is available to students who are currently enrolled at an accredited law school.

• Design for Recovery Sober Living Scholarship Opportunity wants to offer a USD 1000 scholarship to help students who fight every day to overcome the devastating effects of addiction. If you or a loved one deal with alcoholism or drug addiction, we want to hear from you.

• The Douglas Psychotherapy Do Good General Education Scholarship wants to offer USD 1,000 scholarships for college attendees. In order to be considered, write how you will use your education/training to do good in the world in 200 words or less.

• AutoAccident.com Scholarship USD 1000 for high school seniors who will be attending college in the fall semester of 2020. Deadline May 1, 2020. The essay should be approximately 500 words in length. In your own words, please tell us how you'd make the streets a safer place for everyone and reduce auto accidents.

• Optimizemyfirm.com Law Firm Marketing Scholarship for high school seniors who have a 3.0 GPA or higher. applicants must be planning on attending an accredited United States college or university in 2020.

• Business Studies Scholarship Program Participants enrolled in a higher learning degree granting program from any country may apply for the scholarship program.

• Sports and Extracurricular Involvement Scholarship PlayyOn.com, a provider of online tools to organize and run sport and recreation activities, is offering a US 2000 Annual Scholarship in support of participants of high school and college sports and extra-curricular activities.

• BELK Tile Scholarship Program for students who is currently enrolled, or plan to be enrolled during the upcoming academic semester at a USA university as an undergraduate or graduate student.

• Courtroom Crew Trial Attorney Student Scholarship - USD 1000 for awarded to a law school student who is currently enrolled in a Law School.
• Creative Communication Poetry and Essay Contests
• Dirk Derrick Car & Truck Accident Injury Scholarship, a 1000 dollars scholarship for those affected by auto accidents

• Greg Baumgartner Scholarship is open to high school or college in the United States. To apply, please write a very short essay (not to exceed 200 words) about yourself, your educational goals and the reasons for needing a scholarship.
