Hide tag workaround
char0221   17
N Yesterday at 5:59 PM by miles888
Summary of the problem: When quoting a tip tag, hovering over it causes a glitch where the tip tag's inner contents are "stuck" below the quotes.
Page URL: Any community message boards.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a message.
2. Insert a quote.
3. Inside the quote, put a tip tag.
4. Submit/preview, then hover over the tip tag.
Expected behavior: Tip tag does not stay when mouse is removed.
Frequency: 100%
Operating system(s): macOS Sequoia
Browser(s), including version: Safari 18.4
Additional information:
IMAGE
Also, make sure that the quote+tip is last.

Character encoding?
char0221   1
N Wednesday at 4:56 PM by CurlyFalcon55
Summary of the problem: When using the "js", "java", "c", and "cpp" code tags, a left square bracket (i.e. "[") does not show. Instead, "[" appears.
Page URL: Any AoPS message board or community area.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a new message.
2. Inside, use a coding language template. I have not tried the following: Ruby, Go, C# (is there even on for C#?), and Python
3. Type "[".
4. Watch in amazement as your code is ruined.
Expected behavior: Inside the template, should make "[" appear.
Frequency: 100%
Operating system(s): macOS Sequoia
Browser(s), including version: Safari 18.4
Additional information: See below.
-|-leftbracket-|-]

It is "[" next to "]". Only the left bracket does not render.

Bug on Alcumus
FunnyKoala17   6
N Wednesday at 4:53 PM by CurlyFalcon55
Page URL: artofproblemsolving.com/alcumus/problem

Problem: So, I was doing Using Geometry in Probability, and I had a 97 rating. I switched to Arithmetic-Reciprocals. Before, I had a 100 rating in Reciprocals, but then, on another, laptop, I changed back to Arithmetic-Reciprocals, did a question , went back to this laptop, and now, my RECIPROCALS CHANGED FROM 100 TO 97!!

Is this a bug? I'm really sad, cause, it took me a long time to get to 100.

Steps to reproduce:
Go on a topic on Laptop 1. Then, do 1 question in Arithmetic-Reciprocals, switch to laptop 2, and switch topics to Using Geometry in Probability. Do one question, switch back to laptop 1, and your Reciprocals rating will change into your Using Geometry in Probability rating.

Frequency: Not often

Expected behavior: It should save your rating, not change it.

Operating system(s): Laptop 1: MacOS Big Sur, version 11.6 Laptop 2: School Chromebook

Browser(s), including version: Idk, Chrome?

Additional information: Laptop 2 was a school chromebook. Nothing else, but the fact that I am VERY SAD. :noo: :noo: :noo:

HOWEVER, PLEASE DON'T TRY TO REPRODUCE UNLESS YOU ARE MOD OR ADMIN. YOU WILL BE VERY SAD, ESPECIALLY THOSE ALCUMUS GRINDERS.

Post Times are Wrong
CurlyFalcon55   7
N Jun 2, 2025 by CurlyFalcon55
Summary of the problem:
Every time a new post is posted, instead of the time it was posted at, it says "in 41 minutes" or "in an hour" or something like that. I was wondering, is that normal? I happens pretty regularly, though not all the time.

Page URL: Anywhere in the "Introduction to Number Theory" forum in AoPS

Steps to reproduce:
1.Go to the link above.
2.a.Click on any thread or b.just create a new thread.
3.If a., and if someone just posted, the bug might reproduce, and if you post, the problem might reproduce.
If b., then post something, and you might be lucky to see it reproduce.

Expected behavior:
Show the time it's been posted.

Frequency:
Pretty often.

Operating system:
macOS Sequoia 15.4.1

Browsers, including version:
Chrome, (I don't know what version)

Additional information:
This is hard to catch. It just sneaks up on you.

Does anyone else have the same problem? :help:

k AoPS Wiki unnaturally slow
weihou0   4
N Jun 2, 2025 by FunnyKoala17
Recently, I have noticed that the AoPS Wiki takes rather long to load. Normally, this would not be an issue, as some webpages are just a little sluggish on the server side. However, I recall the Wiki being no slower than any other page(forums, profile, etc.) when loading. Now, however, any Wiki page(problem archives, LaTeX tutorials, etc.) takes about 15 seconds to load compared to the regular site, which almost always loads instantly. I have attempted accessing the Wiki page using multiple different browsers such as Chrome and Safari, and have also tried switching operating systems and computers to no avail. Not an internet issue, either, as other sites load fine. Not sure if this is an issue other people experience? It seems as if the load times have changed in the last few months. I can recall when the Wiki loaded instantly just like the rest of the site.
