AIME and AMC have many overlapping topics and ideas, especially in the first 15 questions. In the final 5, it might be more trigonometry/olympiad oriented.

It's kinda funny how AMC/AIME are the qualifying exams to the USAJMO, but they have legit no correlation whatsoever as the overlap in theory is extremely small.

imo amc 10/12 should just be a qualifier for the AIME, while the AIME determines if you make it to jmo (hopefully otis-ish like test)
