ok so am i the only one who feels liek i cant succeed in life
like sincerely
bc i realized that i lowk suck
and altho im kinda near the top at school
its like not enough
esp compared to all you orz people
and extracurricular people
bc i js figured out that im trash at coding
altho i kinda always figured
but i had a breakdown this week abt that
since my dad's liek a tech guy
so my parents always were telling me to do coding
and they thought i was interested
but not really bc im bad at it
someone give me tutorials T_T
liek for leetcode or smth
i kinda told my mom that i cant rly code
and she was like
GIRLY YOU LEARNT FOR 3 YRS ALREADY
HOW RU BAD
YOU HAVE TO DO GOOD IN THIS CODING COMPETITION KKAY

maybe we can be coding buddies or something like that

my situation is pretty similar too. I started coding (R language) for my research class and it was pain (it still is pain), and now I'm learning python + java as well. I honestly isn't the biggest coding lover you can find out there, but my parents told me that coding is a necessary skill for further research and my future career, so I started to code. I think the mindset that allowed me to not reject coding is probably how coding is essential to a lot of subjects, plus my competitiveness

what language is leetcode? i never even heard of it before lol
anyways
use youtube. im sure there are a bunch of tutorials on there.
if the competition ur doing is smth like ftc i recommend ftc sim. it has block code (DDD:) and regular java (:DDD) but the tutorials on there are in block code-
dw it has a translating thing that like translates the block code to java
or if its smth like cyberpatriot, buy a bunch of coding books from amazon.

I've never had a problem with coding but I have felt like I'm not good in a specific area, particularly robot design.

@2above leetcode is for coding interviews but you can use it to practice as well
thousands of problems in all languages lol
i highly recommend using leetcode, it's so helpful!
i went from not being able to solve a single problem to being able to (somewhat) consistently solving medium level problems

Im so sry ur going through this pooks, being forced by parents to do smth you don't like rly sux
and feeling pressured to be good at it is even worse ToT

okay so I cant give out any actual coding tips cuz I'm literally terrible at coding too

But chlo ur literally winning coding comps
You might feel that you aren't nearly as good as you should be
Or you might feel like you won by luck
But the fact is that you won because ppl saw ur skills and thought you deserved the win <33
Don't listen to ppl who tell you how you should be cuz they're not yu and they don't know how you feel or what you need

But obv we're too young to go outright against our parents–
And I'm not telling u to do that obv hehe <33

But I have a few study tips!
(I gained them from having to study 10+ hours a day cuz of a coding camp I'm in rn *sob*)

1. Studying is a marathon, not a sprint

2. Breaks!

i've done it for 2 whole years
even though i might be considered good at coding by most people

just because your parents are techies doesn't mean you have to be one
are you afraid of disappointing your parents maybe? because I think you should just tell them if you hate coding
like if you genuinely don't like coding and it has a negative influence on your life then just quit
if you have some interest in it just keep pushing through
in general just don't think that your "bad" at it, everyone is bad at something and it takes people different amounts of time to learn things
comparing yourself to others will only make you more depressed; have high expectations but remember that just because people around you could be really good doesn't mean you're bad

I know this is just meaningless word salad without any real tips but I have no idea how to code so yeah remember your friends will always be here for you if you need anything
