by Ta-180m, Sep 18, 2018, 3:14 PM

Most people had thought Gameboy Advance emulation on the TI-Nspire would be too slow to be good. Well, gpSP-Nspire has proven them wrong! This emulator supports four screen scaling modes, flexible frameskip options, fully remappable controls, and various other customizable settings. In addition, there is limited support for quick saves, save states, and cheats. Download gpSP-Nspire, and never get bored in math class again!

Issues with game compatibility

Practicality: 10/10
Various customizable settings

Performance: 8/10
About as good as it gets on a calculator

Overall: 9/10
Overall, this emulator is a must-have for your TI-Nspire. You'll find yourself impressing friends or spending hours enjoying Gameboy Advance games on your calculator.

Installation

(1) Install Ndless on your calculator

(2) Send gpsp_launcher.tns, gpsp_resources.tns, and game_config.txt.tns, all in the same folder, to your calculator using the TI-Nspire Computer Link

(3) Download a Gameboy Advance BIOS and rename it to "gba_bios.bin.tns".

(4) Download GBA games here. If you can't find what you're looking for, try searching Google.

(5) Send the BIOS file to the same folder

(6) Send your GBA games to your calculator, which must be renamed with the ".gba.tns" file extension. Compressed ROMs are also supported, by sending a ROM to a zip folder and changing the zip folder's extension to ".zip.tns".

(7) Open gpsp_launcher.tns and navigate the file directory to run your games. Enjoy!

  • And they can't make Ndless because they don't have OS 5.0 running on emulator

    by Ta-180m, Oct 16, 2019, 7:24 PM

  • The main problem is that the Ndless devs can't boot OS 5.0/5.1 on emulator because they need Ndless to get boot images

  • @bobcat1337 there are some programs out there that can let you view PDFs on your Nspire. They require Ndless and one such is nPDF (http://www.omnimaga.org/ti-nspire-projects/npdf-a-document-viewer-for-the-nspire/)
