Hah! Apparently you have to take the AIME in the same venue where you take the AMC10/12. Great! As stated in my previous post, I'm pretty sure I qualified. Pretty sure. If I don't misbubble. Pretty sure. But now I'm screwed. I mean, I'm probably not going to make USAJMO, but then again, WHAT IF. WHAT IF I just somehow see an elegant solution(s) during the AIME. Well no. No JMO for me. I go to a small school, with 60 people per grade. We had about 15 people in middle school (we call it upper school but whatever...) take the AMC10, and some of them couldn't even solve problem 1... So we've got about....8 serious math people. And unfortunately, a ton of them scored around a 105 unless they misbubble in their favor....which won't happen... So...I'm probably going to be the only one who qualifies for AIME! And I've already asked my teacher, and we usually send the single qualifier each year to the high school next to us. Yippee! No USAJMO for me no matter what now... So unless a miracle happens... Everyone misbubbles misbubbles in their favor...And we get a substantial amount of AIME qualifiers....ughhhhhh....but that's not going to happen. So unless I can convince my teacher to stay after school for 3 hours and watch me, and only me, work on AIME. HAH. Probs no. Probs no. So, MAA, you're not reading this but. Why? You're cool and stuff. "Celebrating a century of advancing mathematics" and whatnot. But no, if you slack, we don't need you. Please, keep it up.
