What are some random math achievements that you have accomplished but possess no real meaning?

For example, I solved #10 on the 2024 national mathcounts team round, though my team got a 5 Click to reveal hidden text and ended up getting 30-somethingth place

Let $\omega$ be a circle, and let a line $\ell$ intersect $\omega$ at two points, $P$ and $Q.$ Circles $\omega_1$ and $\omega_2$ are internally tangent to $\omega$ at points $X$ and $Y,$ respectively, and both are tangent to $\ell$ at a common point $D.$ Similarly, circles $\omega_3$ and $\omega_4$ are externally tangent to $\omega$ at $X$ and $Y,$ respectively, and are tangent to $\ell$ at points $E$ and $F,$ respectively.

Given that the radius of $\omega$ is $13,$ the segment $\overline{PQ}$ has a length of $24,$ and $YD=YE,$ find the length of segment $\overline{YF}.$

Which subjects are you struggling with (if any)?

In my opinion, vocabulary should take up the majority of your study time. It is also good to learn how to talk main ideas from passages form the reading comprehension. I wouldn't worry too much about the math unless you're struggling with it. As long as you pay attention in math class, it won't be too bad (there shouldn't be anything on there that is not covered in school).

In order to score high on ISEE upper I studied sat words. It helps to have prepped in like a year in advance (quick find Barry Allen and go back 8 months) however the middle isee is significantly easier. I would recommend just going through an isee upper prep book because it was sufficient for me. Reading a lot of classics helps for the middle but not so much to he upper. Try reading old Victorian novels ( if you can finish fast enough)
Good luck

I can say that taking Latin was a huge boost... So I would definitely look at studying roots of words rather than specific words. Roots will definitely help with words that you've never seen (when they come up on the test). Nevertheless, there are some vocab lists from this book that really helped. I'll try to find you the name of the book, as it was a big help.

Ah. I have done the SSAT before, I don’t know what the ISEE formatting is, but since we all are math gods, you should focus on the vocabulary. Mainly just study up on vocabulary, get better at educated guesses, and practice analogies. Really these analogies are testing your vocabulary and logic at the same time, but you should really only study the logical part of these analogies; the vocabulary can be included into your overall study.

for vocab I basically made like 3 quizlets with 2000 ish words and I basically memmed everything- helped a lot, got a perfect score on vocab thrice
whoops completely forgot 6th grade existed
also the words I mainly got from SSAT books, which I highly recommend getting as the tests that are available online are pretty easy. also the tests on ssat.org are of pretty accurate difficulty.
math is pretty easy, you honestly don't need the aops algebra or geo books since the standard was way way way below that. Honestly just know basic school geo and alg, along with like basic concepts for permutations and stuff
reading IMO is the hardest, all I can recommended is spamming past tests, the non fiction is fine, but the poetry is :stretcher: sadly 1 wrong messes up your score, anything more does a lot of damage so yea good luck

Vocabulary was the hardest part for me; without any prep, I aced all 3 other sections but my vocab score was only around the 80th percentile.

Math should be fairly easy compared to AoPS content. For reading, general speedreading practice should be helpful; try to extract the key of any article you read as fast as possible, and you should be fine.

wrt vocab - I've never been good at memorization, but recognizing word roots has helped me a lot. There aren't that many common ones, and they give away basically half the definition of a word.
