Art of Problem Solving will be hosting an Open MATHCOUNTS State Competition on Wednesday, May 13, as well as MATHCOUNTS Math Jams and voting for the Math Video Challenge.

For those of you new to AoPS, Art of Problem Solving offers challenging, engaging math books and online classes for grades 1–12 that help motivated students grow into exceptional problem solvers prepared for success in prestigious universities and STEM careers.

At Pi Time on the West Coast, we’ll hold the biggest Countdown Round in MATHCOUNTS history.

MATH VIDEO CHALLENGE

Math Video Challenge is a national MATHCOUNTS program that gives students in grades 6-8 the opportunity to create an original video showing math in a real-world setting. Check back here after Pi Time (3:14pm ET) on Monday May 11th to place your vote for the Mathletes’ Choice Award!

CONTESTS

The contest will be an unofficial competition experience using the official 2020 MATHCOUNTS State Competition Sprint, Target, and Team rounds. Everyone can play - contestants can register as a MATHCOUNTS Mathlete (your school participated in MATHCOUNTS this year) or as a MATHCOUNTS Friend (you're new to MATHCOUNTS, or you’re an alum, coach, parent, or volunteer). MATHCOUNTS Mathletes and Friends will each be recognized on their own leaderboard!
