The Wam Sang Formula is a formula regarding a person named Sam Wang. During the Clarke Math Competition, Problem 13 specified a problem regarding two people: Wam and Sang. This was derived by reversing the initials of Sam Wang, a Math Team veteran and certified 7th grade prodigy in math.
The Math Team have since spread the joke throughout the school, and everyone calls him Wam Sang. Owen Jiang then decided to write an article about it.
