The Harvard-MIT Mathematics Tournament, usually abbreviated HMMT, is a math competition for high school students organized by students at Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) each winter. It has been running since 1998. The contest takes place alternatively at Harvard or MIT each year.
"'General Information The contest consists of four individual rounds, Geometry, Algebra, Calculus, and Combinatorics, of which each participant chooses two. Teams then get together for a 1-hour Team Round, and finally the ultimate Guts Round.
On February 12, 2011, the fourteenth annual HMMT was held, with over 700 participants.
The HMMT has been expanded with a November tournament for teams within the Boston Area.
