Dr. George Rubin Thomas is one of the most experienced mathematicians globally and has organized many mathematics summer camps for enthusiastic math students. He is the founder of many prestigious camps such as Canada/USA MathCamp, MathPath, and Epsilon Camp. He enjoys working with young students who are passionate about mathematics and thinks that an early start in mathematics is beneficial for students who show passion and ability for the subject. He believes that exposure to mathematics at a young age is important to encourage profoundly gifted math students. Dr. Thomas is an avid mathematics researcher who has written books on the subject. MathPath is a mathematics summer program for students aged 11 through 14 lasting four weeks. A qualifying test is necessary to gain admission. MathPath is centered around mathematical exploration. It is generally located on a different college campus each year.

The fee is $4500, but there are merit scholarships and financial aid. For the 2011 program, financial aid can reduce the fee to $0, depending on family income. For details about financial support, see the MathPath Fees Webpage.

During the years 2020 and 2021, MathPath was held virtual due to COVID-19.
