Talk:Elementary symmetric sum
Revision as of 19:18, 23 November 2007 by Azjps (talk | contribs) (Talk:Symmetric sum moved to Talk:Elementary symmetric sum: symmetric sums are any sums that are symmetric. These specifically are the elementary ones)
Are these really the symmetric sums? I am used to calling these the elementary symmetric sums so that symmetric sums are any sums that are symmetric. The point is that any symmetric sum can be written as a polynomial in the elementary symmetric sums. --ComplexZeta 14:53, 3 July 2006 (EDT)
ComplexZeta has an excellent point -- what should we do about that? Also, why aren't my $ rendering as < math > like they're supposed to? --JBL 14:14, 24 July 2006 (EDT)
