A Newton (abbreviated N) is the metric measure of force, named for Isaac Newton, whom did extensive research in physics.

One Newton is equal to one kilogram times one meter per second squared, or $\mathrm{N}=\mathrm{kg}\times \mathrm{m}/\mathrm{s}^2$
