Natural logarithm

The natural logarithm, denoted $\ln$, is the logarithm with base e. Thus $\ln(x) = \log_e(x).$

Calculus definition

In calculus, the natural logarithm is defined such that $\ln(x) = \int_1^x \frac 1x \ dx$.
