Syntax
Most headings are level two headings, and the syntax is
== Heading name ==
To create a heading hierarchy, there are also level three and level four headings.
=== Level 3 heading === ==== Level 4 heading ====
There also exists a level one heading. The use of this heading is discouraged, though it often is used on discussion pages.
To link to a heading on the same page, use an internal link: [[#Syntax]] (this can be piped). A link to a heading on a different page is similar: [[AoPSWiki:Tutorial#Wiki Syntax|here]]
Table of Contents
The table of contents (abbreviated TOC) contains links to the various sections of the article.
To avoid seeing the table of contents, there is a hide option on the upper right hand corner of the TOC. You can also turn it off in your preferences under “Misc”.
To make the TOC not show on a page, use __NOTOC__. To move the TOC to a different location, use __TOC__ where you want the TOC to go.
