Competition Format

Anyone that is in 11th grade or under can participate in the WSMO. The WSMO is a team competition, and you can have up to 3 people in a team. Problems in the WSMO range from AMC 8 to AIME level. The WSMO consists of three rounds, the Speed Round, Accuracy Round, and Team Round. The ties will be broken with the time your team submits the team round.

Speed Round

The speed round consists of 10 problems that are to be solved in 10 minutes individually. These questions range from AMC 8 to AMC 10 level. Each correct question is worth 4 points, each blank answer is worth 0 points, and each incorrect question is worth -1 points.

Accuracy Round

The accuracy round consists of 10 problems that are to be solved in 25 minutes individually. These questions range from late AMC 8 to AIME level. Each correct question is worth 6 points, each blank answer is worth 0 points, and each incorrect question is worth -3 points.

Team Round

The team round consists of 15 problems that are to be solved in 45 minutes with your team. These questions range from late AMC 8 level to AIME level. Each correct question is worth 10 points, each blank answer is worth 1 point, and each incorrect question is worth 0 points.

How to Signup/How to Compete

To signup for the WSMO, go to our website (https://www.solsticematholympiads.com). Press the Signup button in the top right corner. You need to choose your username, password, and tell us your email. After pressing the "Sign Up" button, you will have created an account on our website. In order to compete, you need an account on our website, however, you do not have to compete even if you have an account on our website. Now, go to the WSMO page (https://www.solsticematholympiads.com/wsmo). Press the Signup button at the top. Fill out the information. Then, you have signed up for the WSMO. On the test date, you can sign in to your account and access your portal (https://www.solsticematholympiads.com/portal). You will be given the link to the password-protected pdfs that contain the questions and the link to the google form to fill out your answers. Then, go to our youtube channel and join the live stream. The passwords for the pdfs will be displayed there. There will be a 10 minute grace period between rounds to submit your answers.
