MathZoom Summer and Winter Programs
The MathZoom Camp is a math program for middle school and high school students (ages 12-17) to help improve their problem solving skills. The focus of this program is on problem solving, exploration of mathematical knowledge, and improvement of analytical skills. The program aims to help students improve their performance in math competitions, as well as their general mathematical skills if math competitions is not their main goal.
The MathZoom Camps are held in Southern California.
MathZoom Summer Camp 2008
The MathZoom Summer Camp 2008 will be held at University of California, Los Angeles, from July 13 to Aug 2. It is a residential program. Students can choose to (1) Stay overnight and weekends; (2) Stay overnight on weekdays and go home on weekends; or (3) Commute daily. Also, students have the options to join the camp for one week, two consecutive weeks, or the whole three weeks. The students and staff live in hotel-style residential halls, with computer lab, high speed internet access and recreational facilities (swimming pool, tennis court, etc.) Meals are provided at all-you-can-eat cafeteria on campus. Classrooms are in the same building as the residential rooms. Besides daily lectures and problem sessions, the Camp also provides evening seminars on math-related careers and other interesting topics.
MathZoom Summer Camp 2007
The MathZoom Summer Camp 2007 will be held at University of California, San Diego, from Aug 13 to Aug 31. It is a residential program. Students can choose to (1) Stay overnight and weekends; (2) Stay overnight on weekdays and go home on weekends; or (3) Commute daily. Meals are provided by UCSD. Besides daily lectures and problem sessions, the Camp also provides evening seminars on math-related careers and other interesting topics.
