Two Westgate Scholarships in Engineering are given each year to students entering the G.W.C. Whiting School of Engineering. The awards are for undergraduate study in any engineering major and are available for four years. Recipients must continue in the School of Engineering and maintain a 3.0 or better GPA.

Selection Criteria

  • Outstanding high school record
  • Achievements areas including leadership, success in science fairs, and evidence of independent research
  • Academic excellence
  • Research interest in Engineering


There is no separate application for the scholarship. Any application to the school submitted by January 1 and expressing an interest majoring in engineering will be considered. Finalists will be made aware of their status when they are told of their admission to the school.
