The Colorado Mathematical Olympiad was started by Alexander Soifer in 1984. Students are given four hours to complete five essay-style problems. Participation is free and open to all students in grades 6-12. It is takes place each year in April and is hosted by UCCS. Approximately 400 students participate in this contest annually.
