Forums are places originally created to discuss math. (they are not the same as message boards, because anyone on AoPS can view them, not just members of the class)

Forums are places originally created to discuss math. (They are not the same as message boards, because anyone on AoPS can view them, not just members of the class)

Game forums, and inevitably, low-quality forums, emerged. These quickly took over, and as they went up their popularity increased as well. Thus, people saw them, and joined, so their popularity went up, and so on. For the old forums, though, their rating went down, so less people saw them, so less people joined. The base slowly goes away. Only a few have been able to resist this, and few bother to scroll down.
