Definition

The real axis in the complex plane roughly corresponds to the x-axis on the Cartesian plane. It is perpendicular to the imaginary axis and intersects at 0. Each unit has a length of 1 and the numbers on this line are $\ldots-2,-1,0,1,2\ldots$
