This does use pre-calculus. It uses AM-GM. Calculus is just given as an alternative method. If you see, it says "Otherwise, by AM-GM" and goes on.

This does use pre-calculus. It uses AM-GM. Calculus is just given as an alternative method. If you see, it says "Otherwise, by AM-GM" and goes on.
