I'm a middle school student who added the distance formula for the two non-vertical parallel lines in a coordinate plane. I know the proof of it, but I think my proof is too long and massy to be added here. can anyone write the proof instead? I used the method of constructing a perpandicular line that passes through the y-int of one of the two parallel equations and solving the systems of equations to find the distance.
