Fahrenheit

The Fahrenheit scale is a temperature scale named after Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit. The reference point $0^\circ$ F was based on the temperature Daniel's thermometer reached when it was put in ice, water, and ammonium chloride. Another reference point was $96^\circ$ F, which was the temperature of the human body that Daniel measured. His final reference point was the freezing point of water, or $32^\circ$ F.
