The Jefferson Scholarship

The Jefferson Scholarship is intended to cover the entire cost of attendance for four years at the University of Virginia. The scholars are chosen through two processes. Students either participate in a regional competition through a nomination by their school (see the site to see if your school is eligible) or are considered by the Office of Admissions if their school is ineligible, International, or if they are entering the Nursing School, Architecture School, or Engineering School.

Finalists are then invited for a weekend to Charlottesville. There they participate in interviews, a math/logic exam, a written exercise, and seminars. The recipients are chosen at the end of the competition.
