"Personally, don't worry about stats too much; keep on hitting the gas. You got this! :D" - mathbrek, 2023
Mathbrek is a cool person who's really good at math. Fun fact: That's actually why their username has the word math in it. Mathbrek was born in 1997.
Background
Mathbrek was born into a family. Born as the child of a CEO, they didn't have many resources, and therefore learned resourcefulness from a young age. Some of Mathbrek's most compelling childhood stories involve music. To get to school every morning, they would have to brave the tundra, fight an alligator, cross the Han River, climb the Appalachian mountain range, order at McDonalds, and hunt in the woods. As such, they set an alarm.
You should be their friend. They'll call you and ask you how you're doing. You can always talk to Mathbrek, whether it be gloating about your life accomplishments, or moping over your sad, pathetic life. They'll always remember your birthday, and might even post it on their birthday wall! They're full of encouragement and, even when you're considering quitting math, because I know you are, they'll subject you to tons of peer pressure until you aren't! When none of your other friends are there for you, you can always rely on Mathbrek. Because that's the Mathbrek motto. Math is brek is friends!
Life at AoPS
AoPS (pronounced A O P S) trains students to approach new challenges by breaking problems down into familiar parts. They help students develop the problem-solving skills they need to confidently tackle challenging problems—and not only in mathematics. Over time, they've expanded into subjects like physics, programming, and language arts. Across different disciplines, their approach is to help students build a deep foundational understanding of a few critical concepts that they can their apply across a wide range of problems. Students are encouraged to play, experiment, fail and persevere—building the flexibility, creativity, and determination needed to confidently tackle the tough problems they will face as adults. Students learn in different ways, so they offer resources in a variety of different formats, and they've built a community where students can connect and collaborate with their peers. They hope to keep growing their community of interdisciplinary problem solvers to be ready for the complex ideas that are yet to come.
Mathbrek was indoctrinated into AoPS from a young age. From a young age, Mathbrek learned combinatorics. They call stars and bars "ball and urn." As a productive member of the AoPS community, from a young age, Mathbrek has always been a contributing member of society. You can often find them on the AOPS forum, discussing various interesting topics, including, but not limited to:
- Middle school math
- High school math
- Birthdays
Mathbrek has always had a very humble personality. That's why on some of their AoPS Wiki solutions, they gives the illusion of co-authoring by crediting their little brother's account, happyhari. Mathbrek is so cool. They've been AIME qualified since the fourth grade and is currently pursuing their dream, studying abroad in Antarctica. They plan to manufacture penguin plushes for a living and sell them on the AOPS webstore.
