Cherokee County Open Math Tournament
The Cherokee County Math Tournament or Cherokee County Open (formerly the Woodstock Math Tournament) is an annual math tournament run jointly by Cherokee, Creekview, Etowah, Sequoyah, and Woodstock High Schools, all located in Cherokee County, Georgia. The venue seems to rotate each year. The 2007 tournament will occur on Saturday, February 10, 2007, at Creekview High School.
Format
There are two divisions of competition: varsity and junior varsity. Teams may be of up to eight people each, but only the top four individual scores will contribute to the team's overall score.
In each division, the tournament consists of a twenty-five-question individual multiple-choice test worth 125 points, ten ciphering questions worth fifty points total, and two team power questions worth forty points total. Calculators are not permitted on any part of the competition except the power round.
