Mathematics, science, and technology scholarships

These large scholarships span fields of science broadly.

  • Intel Science Talent Search. One of the oldest and largest math and science scholarship programs. Intel STS winners receive scholarships of up to $100,000. website
  • Proton Energy Scholarship website
  • International Science and Engineering Fair. Another Intel-sponsored science and mathematics competition, arguably the most important such competition in the world. The 3 ISEF winners each receive a <dollar/>50,000 scholarship. website
  • Siemens Competition in Math, Science & Technology. Hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships awarded annually. website
  • Siemens Award for Advanced Placement. Scholarships for national and state winners who scored 5s on the most math, science, and technology AP exams. website
  • Science, Math, and Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship. Full tuition and stipends in exchange for summer internships and a year of work after graduation in a DoD lab. website
  • Department of Homeland Security Scholarship and Fellowship Program. Full tuition and stipend and internships for eligible students. website
  • National Science Foundation's Robert Noyce Scholarship. <dollar/>10,000 for undergraduate or graduate students studying to become math or science teachers in exchange for teaching at a "high needs" secondary school for two years after graduation. website

  • UNCF-MERK Undergrad Science Research Scholarship Award website

  • FIRST scholarships for high school students on FIRST robotics teams website

State-specific scholarships

  • New Economy Technology Scholarship (NETS) for undergraduates studying in approved technology, science, or allied health fields who are Pennsylvania residents and students and willing to work full-time in Pennsylvania after graduation. Website
