Kennesaw State University Mathematics Competition

The Kennesaw State University Mathematics Competition is a two-round math competition which will occur for the first time in the 2006–2007 school year. It is open to all Georgia high school students.

Format

Part I of the competition will be held in the competitors' schools. It will consist of twenty-five multiple-choice questions to be solved in ninety minutes. Papers will be mailed to Kennesaw State University (KSU) to be graded.

The top five to ten percent of the Part I participants will be invited to take Part II, a two-hour, five problem test, also taken at the competitors' schools. Most will require proof or justification; all will require process to be shown. Papers will be graded by KSU mathematics faculty.

The 2006—2007 Competition

Part I will occur on Wednesday, November 8, 2006. Part II will occur on Wednesday, February 7, 2007. The top 30 composite scorers will be invited to an awards ceremony on the KSU campus.
