An inscribed angle is the angle formed when two chords of a circle share an endpoint, or a chord and a tangent line segment share an endpoint (usually known as a tangent chord angle). Calculating the measure of the arc that the inscribed angle subtends does not depend on the location of the vertex of the inscribed angle with respect to the circle it is inscribed in.

Measure of an Inscribed Angle

The measure of an inscribed angle is equal to half of the measure of the arc it intercepts or subtends.
