Okay well haha summer break is fading. I made negative improvement over the summer on my math skills so haha well screw me when the school year starts…

Anywayss, on a much happier(just kidding it’s a lot scarier) note, I have a hyper-competitive flute audition soon so I’m actually screwed. Basically it’s a tryout for an orchestra and it’s like wayyy too competitive. The stress kicked in a couple of days ago so I’m practicing flute for 1+ hours every day instead of my normal 30 minutes…

The audition is completely blind(meaning you can’t see the judges and vice versa) and you have to play a 2-3 octave scale, play through 3-4 excerpts given to you upon the date of release(basically when school ends) and then you have summer break to work on the excerpts. What a great way to spend summer, right? After the excerpts comes SIGHTREADING(aka hell). This is usually the deciding factor when it comes to auditions because you either do well or screw up miserably. If you want proof, last year I played my TYO excerpts perfectly, proceeded to absolutely bomb sightreading, then proceeded to not make it in. I’m doing TYS and TYP(the two highest orchestras) this year. Anyways that happens in two days so I’m completely screwed. I think my auditions are decent and my sightreading is ok, but I really don’t think I’ll make TYS this year, which means that my parents won’t be happy oops.


On a much, much happier note,(just kidding again this time it’s scarier…) SCHOOL STARTS IN LIKE 4 DAYS !! I have a class that needs to be fixed and my counselor quit mid-summer break so I’m screwed. I’ve sent a countless number of emails BUT NOTHING SEEMS TO WORK! Yayyyy my high school course trajectory might have been altered completely… I’m kind of excited for high school though… It seems like Carnage(my middle school, not the actual word) all over again except every small move you make affects your entire future and the fights and making out is like 50x more intense yayyy. We do have science olympiad tryouts, which I’m trying out for Wifi Lab(haven’t even started), Cell Bio(barely understand) and Codebusters(I only know Aristocrats right now) soo yeah that’s shaping up to be great. There’s also a kid in my band class who looks exactly like me(and according to friends who are in marching band talks exactly like me as well) so this is like the serenaz26 and Vicky thing all over again(They were known Vicky and Vicky Senior it’s complicated dm me for a more detailed explanation). That’s shaping up to be SO GREAT(get the sarcasm…? whatever). I’ve also started having dreams about failing my TYS audition so that’s great.


Something actually good started(not really it’s kind of in the middle). SWIM TEAM SEASON!!! All of my friends left except for like 2 people so I’m stuck with them for now. THERE ARE SO MANY NEW KIDS(and it sucks that I know/have heard of all of them). There’s like a really emo one and her best friend, and he’s just as sassy as she is. I just remember saying, as his response to favorite music, “yasss we all STAN(note the emphasis) for LANNAAAAA.” We were all really confused because it was supposed to be a one-phrase thing not a whole life story so it got kind of awkward really quickly… I guess I’m just going to lane with my two friends and see who else wants to join the group because we lost so many real ones this season…

Guess what? Hawaii happened. It was fun. It was pretty tiring. I’m too lazy to write about it.
