On Graduation

So I was going to put this on my Spam Blog(which you should check out
), but I decided against this because this post should be lengthy. Also, I need a real May Post which isn't a message from my brother saying that I got postbanned, so yeah.
It hit me last night during the Senior Recognition portion of my band concert. All these amazing people I’d looked up to and become decent friends with… they were all leaving. They were going on to their next chapter, whilst I was still stuck. I would probably never see them again, unless I ran into them at some math competition, whether that be DMM, HMMT, or maybe some Science Bowl or Science Olympiad tournament.
When we took that final flute group picture, it dawned on me. I wasn’t going to see Jeffrey in the foreseeable future. I wasn’t going to see Olivia again. I wasn’t going to see Evan again. I wasn’t going to see Lucy again. I wasn’t going to see Ridhi again. (oops sorry for namedropping but then again none of the ppl have aops accounts so the odds of them checking this are nonnegative and nonpositive) The list goes on, as there are people from Science Olympiad, people from Science Bowl, people from MHS, people from the Chinese Club, you get the point.
And it wasn’t just that I wouldn’t see all of these people again, it was that they could no longer carry our clubs. It was time for the Juniors to step up and carry Enloe academics-wise, but there isn’t really anyone to carry unless you count brianzjk and co., but 3 people are much MUCH less than the large number of seniors that were academic weapons.
I guess it isn’t just Seniors who get the whole post to themselves either. Some sophomores are “graduating,” and by that, I mean that they’re transferring to NCSSM. These people, too, were academic weapons, and most of them I knew quite well. I’m definitely going to miss these people a lot more than the Seniors(I still love u seniors!), as I got to relate to their lives much easier, because the Sophomores and I haven’t gone through the traumas of APUSH, and I’ve been around the Sophomores a lot, too, whereas I haven’t been around the Seniors too much. But I’ll still see the Sophomores(now technically Juniors) around at Math Competitions, maybe visiting SSM, maybe going to SSM, but I’m still very undecided yet because I’ve heard a lot of praise and a lot of hatred towards SSM(most of that hatred coming from brianzjk and the Seniors).
Regardless, I wish all those who are graduating one way or another the best with their next chapter, whether that be college or a new public residential High School.
