Just the pressure's been gettin' heavy

Life has been going great!
Just kidding.
Science Bowl
I flopped Round 2. Life is great. I didn’t make the team, but I’m a little worried about Science Olympiad, even though I don’t think I should because I doubt I’ll make it.
Science Olympiad
So SciOly R2 happened. I got 6th in Wifi(there were only six people for R1) and 8th in Cell Bio(I might’ve dropped after R2), which means that I could theoretically make JV2 with a stroke of luck. Honestly, I’m kinda pissed because I should’ve tried out for Flight this year because nobody seems to be good at it and I think I might be OK… we don’t talk about my Wright Stuff skills from last year haha
So R2 WiFi Lab test was very interesting. I think I got last again, due to my lack of theoretical knowledge and because my binder didn’t have too much about the topics on the test. I don’t really mind, to be honest. We also had the building portion, which was extremely fun. The board member, Derek, had no idea how to run the build portion, so the people trying out just absolutely carried him by setting up everything(I was just watching because I had no idea what was happening).
Then the testing started, and the RSSI was literally so inconsistent. It produced so many funny moments and I literally died when the RSSI just kept on getting higher when the computer moved farther(for those who don’t know, that’s not supposed to happen). I went and got like 10 meters, even though the maximum beforehand was 20 meters… I didn’t really care, as brianzjk went ahead with his build. Now brianzjk was playing Genshin before testing, so I assume for his sake, that Genshin killed all of his brain cells. So brianzjk didn’t actually build an antenna. Instead, he took a sophomore’s build from last year and just used it, so he obviously needed to make sure that his build worked, so he used one of his three given attempts to make sure that the antenna worked. He tried three meters, and it worked! brianzjk being the ambitious fellow and troll that he is, decided to try 20 meters! He got an average of -70, but he need a number greater than -64 in order for the test to count, so he has one more attempt left! brianzjk decided that he could NOT lose to a freshman, so he asked for 10.5 meters. Big mistake. The device showed: -65, -70, -74, -63, -68, etc. Now, being extremely inconsistent, Derek had the funniest commentary ever. “What the he** is this sh** bro? That’s crazy. -70, -64, -68, -63, -74. BRO WHAT F**K IS THIS?! Why does WiFi Lab exist?” So we were considering whether to pass brianzjk or not, but since the rules said the AVERAGE and not the best score, brianzjk did not pass. However, brianzjk had some tricks up his sleeve, and he started bribing Derek and having the dumbest excuses, but none worked
After I literally died from laughing, it was all over and I placed 3rd out of 4 people. There was one person who was really sick, so he recorded it at home. And you might be wondering, why are there 5 people, not 6? Well yeah one person dropped out sooo…
Cell Biology went somewhat poorly. My cheatsheet didn’t have too many of the National topics, so I didn’t do as well as I hoped to. It was an extremely high-quality test, but I just didn’t have many of the topics on my cheatsheet.
Codebusters wasn’t a huge throw, but still suboptimal nonetheless. I did manage to beat Serenaz26, but that was just because she didn’t manage to solve the timed question, and I feel really bad for her. Honestly, I personally believe serenaz26 has a shot at Varsity, but only time will tell. IF ANY ENLOE SCIOLY BOARD MEMBER IS READING THIS, PLEASE LET ME INTO VARSITY :sob:
Grades
As of Quarter 1, I do have an A in everything, but I’m seriously starting to struggle a bit in Calculus. I’m not sure what’s going to happen from here on out, but I need to start paying more attention in class.
Swimming
So I made my school swim team as one of the very few freshmen on the team! Yay! None of my freshman friends made it, so I only know 3 people. I missed a mandatory meeting because I forgot about it, but now all the stuff that we have to do is lowkey kinda stressful… It’s alright. We’ll manage. I’m also the slowest male on the team, if not the slowest person on the team…
I also went to a swim meet over the Halloweekend, so that was pretty fun. I got to hang out with some friends in my swim group, yell for 5 hours, and swim fast. I did extremely mid, but I did snag my first BB time for 13-14, which is really nice. I got sick right after the swim meet aka during school swim tryouts, so I’m genuinely surprised that I made the team.
That’s all I have if I’m not mistaken. I’ll see you guys whenever something interesting in my life happens! Bye!
