Confusion on Origin?
julll55   86
N Yesterday at 5:52 PM by tigeryong
Okay so one thing that I've never understood about Atheists, is how they don't believe in any all-powerful being, even if it isn't the Christian God.

Like, okay say something like the Big Bang happened, what caused that. And what caused the thing that caused that. See? It doesn't make sense.

The fact that space, time, and reality exists is proof of a creator.

There has to be some all-powerful being that created everything, otherwise it doesn't make sense.

Also the argument of, "Well then what created God?" doesn't work because the whole point of God is that He has always existed.

So what is your guy's explanation for creation. Because random objects couldn't have just been existing in the world, that doesn't make any sense, something must have created them, therefore there is a creator.

Why do people still believe in evolution?
dericjess   50
N Apr 1, 2025 by tigeryong
Why do people still believe in evolution?

1: Life from non-life. The law of abiogenesis states that life cannot come from non life. Even today with perfect conditions we cannot create life. In the early universe there were most likely not nucleotides floating around but even if there were to be able to make DNA, you need a dexyribose sugar backbone. If somehow the nucleotides bond with the backbone and you finally get DNA, how would they be in any specific order? It is unlikely that they would make anything useful because even if they are off by one pairing the protein might not work. But then you need very complex protiens to even read this code, and reproduce it (mRNA, tRNA, rRNA, and Ribosomes). And then you need amino acids to be able to make more protiens. The probability is essentially 0% of life forming. But even if life got this far it would die of the radiation outside in its environment.

2 Mutations are sterile. When a mutation occurs in DNA, it does not improve the cell, but rather destroys it. Changes in genetic code result in down syndrome, sterility, birth defects, and so many more. How could a mutation consistently improve genetic code? This doesn't happen in nature at all.

I’ve heard from some people in Xarcade that Christianity sees homosexuality as a sin. Can somebody here explain why is that?

How do y'all respond to the "problem" of evil?

I bet atheists are going to love this and the other thread but I wanted to get other theists' POV on this.

This Forum has been a little quiet recently, so I thought I would post this.
Please say your specific beliefs, even if someone said something about your denomination. I'm interested to hear your thoughts! :)

EDIT:
I forgot Unitarianism, Puritan, and Anglicism. I also forgot to allow revoting. Sorry! :oops_sign:

Announcement!

Hello people!

The Christian forum will be officially offline until the new year, exactly when is not known. This means new games will not be created by the admins, and admins will be mostly inactive, in respect of the holiday season. Ie we're partying at our individual houses instead of sitting on our computers.. :rotfl:

So, users are still permitted to post, however, please do not create any new threads/topics until after the admins get back sometime in January. Thanks for an awesome user group!
