The value of $x - y^{x - y}$ when $x = 2$ and $y = -2$ is:

Solution

Just plug in the numbers and follow the order of operations: \[2-(-2)^{2-(-2)}\] \[2-(-2)^4\] \[2-16\] \[\boxed{\textbf{(B) }-14}\]
