Game #22 Discussion

Game #22 has not started, it can be found here. It is aops-g5-gethsemanea2 v CreativeHedgehog on board 1 & piphi v Angrybird029 on board 2. aops-g5-gethsemanea2 & Angrybird029 control the white pieces.

aops-g5-gethsemanea2 is the bottom-left white player with reserve 2A, piphi is the bottom-right black player with reserve 2B, CreativeHedgehog is the top-left black player with reserve 1A, and Angrybird029 is the top-right white player with reserve 1B. Each player's reserves are on the corner of the screen that they started on.

Discuss the game here. --πφ 17:36, 26 July 2020 (EDT)

So to summarize the rules for those who do not know, here it is from Wikipedia: Bughouse chess (also known as exchange chess, Siamese chess (not to be confused with makruk), tandem chess, transfer chess, double bughouse, cross chess, swap chess or simply bughouse or bug) is a popular chess variant played on two chessboards by four players in teams of two. Normal chess rules apply, except that captured pieces on one board are passed on to the teammate on the other board, who then has the option of putting these pieces on their board.

Another question to @piphi, why didn't the game start yet? :) -- aops-g5-gethsemanea2 27 July 2020, 12:59 (Philippine Time)

I don't think CH has fully finished with all the templates and stuff. Once he says it's done then we can start. For now I'll be clarifying who plays in which corner. --πφ 01:19, 27 July 2020 (EDT)

Which templates? -- aops-g5-gethsemanea2 20:09, 27 July 2020 (Philippine Time)

The Bug house Template, of course.

Step 1:

Upload Files (use my badge template to take a screen shot and upload that, p is for white's promoted piece, r for black's promoted piece.)

Step 2:

Wait for Piphi to finish

Step 3:

Wait for Everyone to be ready

Step 4:

Play the game

Step 5:

We are finished

Wait, am I missing something? What are the promoted pieces for? Are they for another variant or are they also a part of bughouse? --πφ 18:05, 27 July 2020 (EDT)

The Promoted pieces are to make sure we know if a piece is from a pawn, because if it gets captured, it will then only bring a pawn to the reserve. I also need this for crazyhouse. CreativeHedgehog 19:14, 27 July 2020 (EDT)

How far we are finished from:

Are we finished:

Ah, ok. I think we can start now even though not all promoted pieces have been uploaded, it'll still be a while before any of us gets a pawn to the other side. --πφ 19:52, 27 July 2020 (EDT)
