Minnesota MathCounts is Minnesota's division of the national mathematics competition, MathCounts. It follows the standard format. There is a Countdown Round, although it does not affect the score. The Countdown Round currently follows the format of the one at the national competition, except that the four students receiving first-round byes are chosen at random so as to postpone the announcement of the top four students until the awards banquet.
