So these last couple weeks I feel like I haven't solved anything that I've attempted. I even grabbed an IMO1 and couldn't solve that either. Am I the only one that gets these sporadic slumps?

(OK, maybe it's not entirely sporadic. School just started for me. We have a super late start/end for some reason, but that's fine with me because I get to ditch a big chunk of the end for MOP. Gives me an incentive to not fail USAMO this year.)

Sometimes I get in these slumps. I "fix" them by working on super easy problems (like AIME level) or problems I did a while ago but can still vaguely remember the solution outline, attempting to reconstruct the argument. This seems to help a little for me.

ohwait a minute for some reason I;ve heard of skipping school as an incentive but never actually considered that it would apply to me for some reason (fail). Now THAT is quite a large incentive. (but it's still secondary)

Max Schindler believes that functional equations are good to get you back in the competition mindset because of the intense concentration they make people who solve them have. Also they are much more interesting than easy AIMES.
