A Good Day for AoPS at Nationals

by rrusczyk, May 10, 2010, 7:57 PM

We're very proud of the performances of our students at Nationals. Many of the 12 finalists in the Countdown round have taken AoPS classes, and we believe that nearly all of them have used AoPS texts in their preparation. We were particularly excited to have our home state of California bring home the national team title, as the four students on the California team have collectively taken 26 AoPS classes!

AoPS pwns mathcounts again. It seems like the California team loves AoPS.

You don't need AoPS texts. All you need is to become a computing machine. MathCounts is fast and trivial brute force. Is it really any better than competitions making you memorize school material? Yes, I guess it is, but when the problems become easy, the competition gets dull.
